Endodontics

What is endodontics?

Endodontics is the area of dentistry dedicated to the prevention and treatment of pulpal or dental nerve disorders and their repercussions on the periapical or support tissues of the tooth.

Endodontic therapy consists of the removal of the dental pulp or nerve, accompanied by a correct disinfection of the root canals (where the nerve is housed) and the three-dimensional obturation of the same to prevent bacterial colonization that generates an infection.

Given the different causes that can trigger irreversible nerve involvement, it is important to promptly go to the specialist to make the appropriate evaluation and treatment, avoiding complications or tooth loss.
